I can confirm this, I was trying to use it earlier and it's just... buggy as hell. It crashes almost at random (if you try and do anything) and one time actually took down Gnome-Panel with it. This isn't specific to Ubuntu though, it acted the same on Gentoo, I think it may just be a really badly coded app. I recommend using KGet in the meantime, works great (seems to have a few more features too which is nice).
