I also have a problem with resuming. Almost reproducible every other time I open my lid the screen stays black. The "moon" stays on and I have to press the power button for several seconds to really switch the box off. i don't know where to look nor what to attach, but will try to answer quickly to any requests. Desperation even lead me to upgrading - with no soothe thought - to 9.04
