I want to confirm that we had our SAN-Storage connected to the ubuntu servers not working properly with linux-image-2.6.24-23-server or earlier versions (from hardy)
Applying the mentioned patch [1] resolves the issues and makes everything work fine again. Our issues were: There always were several FC paths not being visible to the host system. Now we do see all four FC paths on all LUNs as expected. Storage is EMC Clariion (CX700) with McData and Brocade Fabrics. Please apply the mentioned patch to the qla2xxx driver. Thanks!
