Public bug reported:

1) I have an HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-In-One printer attached via USB
to a desktop running Intrepid. It works very well. I could connect to
the desktop from my laptop, also running Intrepid, and print just fine,
except for a minor glitch with paper source trays.

I then did a completely new installation of Jaunty Final on the laptop.
system-config-printer can find the desktop over the net, but cannot
connect to the printer on it.

2) On a third machine, I upgraded an installation of Intrepid to Jaunty
Final. I then installed the HP l7780 All-In-One on the machine. When I
ran "hp-setup -i" as root, it returned, in part:

--------------------------------------------------
Please enter a name for this print queue (m=use model
name:'Officejet_Pro_L7700'*, q=quit) ?m
Using queue name: Officejet_Pro_L7700

HP reports that HPLIP supports the printer in Jaunty.
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-
web/models/officejet/officejet_pro_l7700.html. However, the current
version of HPLIP is 3.9.4, while Jaunty has 3.9.2.

Running the same command on the Intrepid desktop found the printer and
set up a queue. Partial output:

--------------------------------------------------
Enter number 0...2 for connection type (q=quit, enter=usb*) ?

Note the results of running the command "lpinfo -l -m | grep -i
officejet | grep 7700" on Intrepid:

This is not a duplicate of #238729, which is reported closed with the
missing PPDs restored on 2008-11-20. #238729 would have affected Hardy
and/or Intrepid, but the fix should have gotten into Jaunty. The
discussion in #235148 may be relevant here.
