@jplotkin: Good attempt, but I enabled the setting, restarted tb and still everytime I open a message with say a 6mb attachment, it downloads it anew. Then, if I want to save it, I have to download it again...
I increased the size limit of saving for offline use from 1024 kb to 10240 kb to no avail - now after synchronization for offline use, going offline then back online I can retrieve a cached version of the message without having to re-download it.
