As a conclusion I have to say that maybe the problem is in Eclipse not being able to interpret certain values from the gtkrc file.
Lacho: I may help you out make a more compact version of the theme. As a start have a look a the New Wave Dark menus provided with the theme package in the gnome-look link. It has inherited the base new wave gtkrc file and modified certain values in order to make the menus look dark.
