Hi Andreas, Sorry, I may have assumed that you knew what I was talking about. Here are instructions for doing what I proposed in my last comment:
1) Press Alt-F2 and run the following command (without quotes): "gksu gedit /etc/modules" 2) The editor will open. Add the following line to the bottom (without quotes): "sisfb" 3) Press Alt-F2 and run the following command (without quotes): "gksu gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf" 4) In Section "Device" make sure there is a line specifying the sis driver: Driver "sis" If you need to know where to place the line in step 4, look at my previous comment. I've ignored all lines starting with a "#" symbol as these are lines ignored by the system, also known as comments. I hope this helps you. -- weird graphics with sis graphics card https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/317658 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
