I have the same problem. Restart doesn't help. The letter "é" doesn't even appear in the list of "Sonderzeichen" (special characters, symbols?) for Times new roman anymore. When I chose é in another font and try to mark and change in Times New Roman, it gets "È" again. I tried the same as joehill: created a new document - but there it's the same.
