This is confirmed, but basically a "wishlist" item. X1300/X1600/X1800-cards are not supported because AMD / ATI has not given out the needed information to support those, and no-one has been able to reverse-engineer the needed things. Actually, one person _has_ written support for the cards, but is under NDA from AMD and has not received a permission from AMD/ATI to publish the code. So it's all up to AMD.
Meanwhile, people might be interested in supporting Intel, which has completely open source graphics drivers for eg. its new GMA X3000 chipset. ** Changed in: pciutils (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: pciutils => xserver-xorg-video-ati ** Summary changed: - Unknown ATI Video Card + Unknown ATI Video Card (X1000-series) ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed => Confirmed -- Unknown ATI Video Card (X1000-series) https://launchpad.net/bugs/68075 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
