Hi, I'm also affected by this bug in Kubuntu Jaunty with a Radeon X1600PRO: 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV530 [Radeon X1600]
The system freezes whenever I turn on compositing, with either EXA or XAA.
