Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

This is reported on an up-to-date Jaunty.

I have an empty directory, /big/Downloads. If I open the nautilus file
browser view of it, and I move a file or directory into it, the file
browser shows itself unchanged, ie blank [wrong behaviour].

If I then click Reload, I can see the contents, but it doesn't show
until I click Reload.

You can see a vnc2swf recording of this behaviour at
http://www.aaa.net.au/campbell/recording.html

My home directory is /big/dcampbel in the same partition as the folder,
hence moving from the desktop to folder is a move.

If however, I go to the commandline and create a file or directory in
/big/Downloads, they immediately appear in the nautilus file browser.

Also, if I create another directory, /big/tmp2 with identical
permissions, and I move the file or directory into that, everything
works fine.

Here are the permissions:

dcamp...@vostro:/big$ ls -ald /big/Downloads /big/tmp2 /big/dcampbel/
/big/dcampbel/Desktop/ /big/dcampbel/Desktop/old /big/dcampbel/Desktop/old2
drwx------ 206 dcampbel dcampbel 28672 2009-05-03 05:37 /big/dcampbel/
drwxr-xr-x 9 dcampbel dcampbel 4096 2009-05-03 05:57 /big/dcampbel/Desktop/
drwxr-xr-x 2 dcampbel dcampbel 4096 2009-01-07 09:22

drwxr-xr-x 2 dcampbel dcampbel 16384 2009-05-03 05:57 /big/Downloads
