@Ted - Pauli's observation is correct. I was comparing Jaunty against
2.6.28.9 fs/ext4/mballoc.c. They are indeed the same wrt the code in
ext4_mb_add_n_trim(). However, Linus' tree has commit
e7c9e3e99adf6c49c5d593a51375916acc039d1e which was Cc sta...@kernel.org,
and corrects the spin_unlock() typo. This commit did not appear in
2.6.28.y (and now likely won't with stable support for 2.6.28 ending).
