I have a Kodak EasyShare C310 showing the same error multiple times, than finally mounting. However, I cannot seem to download any of my pictures to my hard drive. I had a similar problem with this same camera under both Feisty and Gutsy, evidently due to some problem with newer versions of libgphoto: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=102724
Similar to what James mentions, the camera worked brilliantly under both Hardy and Intrepid. This looks and feels very much like my old problem, and I would be amazed if libgphoto weren't once again the culprit. Is there a way once again to downgrade the version we are using? I have some screenshots of the errors I'm getting. Please let me know if you need them.
