Rethinking the above.. the pasting occurs only if the terminal is already open. Opening one after copying doesn't work but that might be a normal function in Ubuntu?..
So, back one step.. it's reproducible, happening in new users as well; in terminal, gedit, terminator. It just seems the mouse is acting overly sensitive. Trying now to alter slightly the timing of the single click gives mostly two, occasionally three pastes. Holding it down can spawn endless pastes but only it seems after some slight pause. I don't know if that is designed in and the first paste it still the issue or if I just need a new mouse??
