Hello, The behaviour has changed slightly since the bug was reported, due to package updates I suspect.
The current behaviour is now that the Left screen remains in standby, and the Right hand screen powers up and shows the right hand side of the extended desktop. However, the desktop wallpaper is shrunken and tiled. As such I can't actually open a window to try to move it, but I believe that this didn't work before the behaviour changed. No I am not using compiz. I'll attach some screenshots shortly.
