How else do you propose that a user track down hard to reproduce kernel panics? If there's a better, more preferred method I'm all ears. I've been dealing with sporadic kernel panics (hard lock with flashing caps lock) since just after upgrading to 8.10. Trying to track down the root cause is what lead me to report this bug in the first place.
