FYI: I removed "Remote Desktop Sharing" from System -> Preferences ->
Startup Applications.  I did killall vino-server a few times but it
stayed around.  And then I was able to "Allow other users to view your
desktop" and my CPU usage issue stayed low and normal.  Removing it from
the startup seems to have fixed it.  Like Paolo I did not myself put
Remote Desktop in my startup.  My machine was a machine freshly
installed with Ubuntu 8.? and recently upgraded to 9.04.
