** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: firefox

  USB Speakers: 046d:0a0b Logitech, Inc.
  Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope)
  Firefox 3.0.10
  Flash 10.0.22.87
  pavucontrol 0.9.7-1ubuntu3

Plugging in USB headset, there is unexpected behavior.

Changing the output device in System > Prefrence > Sound to "USB
Speakers (ALSA)" redirects all streams to the usb headset except
  firefox/flash.

A manual non-persistent workaround for this is explained in Answer #56282
- pavucontrol is needed (not included) to have sound output directed from
firefox to the USB headset, otherwise built in speakers are used. Also, There
has to be a stream (an instance of a program with audio output) running to
redirect it to the speakers.
