The updates today look to have fixed this issue.  To fix this on your system do 
the following:
If you want to use your wireless connection to do the update, restart and press 
escape to open the GRUB menu. Choose to boot from kernel 2.6.28-11 to get your 
wireless connection working on the previous kernel before this update. Run: 
'sudo apt-get install -y linux-restriced-modules'  Restart once finished, and 
your wireless should work on the 2.6.28-12 kernel now.
