If you are installing to a raid partition, heed this: PsYcHoK9 said: > I've installed many times ubuntu on my "fake" Raid 0 Intel ICH10 (P5Q Deluxe). > Any time, i type on the terminal "sudo apt-get install dmraid", I click on > Install and Ubiquity crash in the end of setup > process. > I reboot my pc, again "sudo apt-get install dmraid"... and I do a manual > installation of grub: > sudo apt-get install dmraid > ... > I hope that soon I can install Ubuntu WITHOUT this long process.
Thanks PsYcHoK9, I forgot about that. I've been having this problem as well ever since I've used ubuntu, starting with Ubuntu 7.10. The live install of Ubuntu 9.10 failed for me as well "ubiquity crashed with InstallStepError in configure_bootloader()". It seems to me that a lot of people that have responded to this bug have tried to install to a raid partition. Others have not. Shouldn't there be separate bugs? If you are trying to install to a raid array, see: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FakeRaidHowto Also note: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FakeRaidHowto#Installing%20to%20RAID5%20array%20with%20Ubuntu%209.04%20Live%20CD "Once dmraid is running, the live installer can handle installing to the raid. _Ubiquity will fail when installing grub_, and will not automatically add dmraid to the new installation." -- ubiquity crashed with InstallStepError in configure_bootloader() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260001 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
