Because I'm feeling a bit lazy, here are the instructions, but in reverse. There are three ways to disable Metacity's compositing manager:
1. (Requires Jaunty, I think) Press Alt-F2 and run (without quotes) "metacity --no-composite --replace" 2. Click the "Applications" menu, navigate to "System" or "System Tools", and run "Configuration Editor". Navigate to the /apps/metacity/general folder and make sure the "compositing_manager" checkbox is unchecked. 3. From a terminal, run (without quotes) "gconftool-2 --set /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager --type=bool false" -- warning: Screen isn't composited. Please run compiz (fusion) or another compositing manager https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359061 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
