I can't shut down the Kubuntu - 9.04, 64b system sometimes. It hangs on "will 
halt now"
Reboot works fine for me.
I guess that Kubuntu has problem to unmount external disks (1 x fat32, 3 x 
ext4, 1 x ext3)
My workaround: 
unmount all disks manually before shouting down the computer (Toshiba Tecra M9).
