I've been looking at this error log and decided to look at the /home/anna/.config/gnome-session/saved-session/ folder. All the files in here were last modified on the day and time I was last running Ubuntu without any problems. So I have moved them to a different location, logged out and back in again and I haven't had the error message yet and gnome things seem to be working. I hope this is a fix, but I don't know the implications of removing these files.... we'll have to see. I have no idea what could have happened to these files to cause this problem though?
