Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pitivi
Issue here using the Fluendo multi-codec pack, purchased from the Canonical store. Importing an mp3 into pitivi gives the following error: "Could not establish duration of the file. The clip seems to be in a format which cannot be accessed in a random fashion." http://www.ubuntu-pics.de/bild/15232/screenshot_04_BBRz6K.png The purchased codecs (lp project: fluendo-isv): http://shop.canonical.com/product_info.php?products_id=244 While totem displays the song time correctly and is able to seek (at least from what I see, clicking on random spots plays just fine from there).
