I am also suffering from this multiple xfdesktop affliction. Items of note: 1. the problem is present on my laptop which was a fresh Jaunty install 2. the problem is not evident on either of my desktops which have been dist-upgraded.
Also, there may be more severity based on how long the laptop sits at the login screen before logging in.
