Michael, thank you very much for your help. I am a newbie in Linux and I downloaded the drivers directly from Nvidia. I did as you told me and my system is stable again, in terms. Sometimes it freezes and the video becomes strange but at this point I don't know if it was caused by my moves trying to install these drivers or not. Is there any incompatibility between Ubuntu and the Geforce 9600GT? If not I will probably reinstall Ubuntu since this video card works perfectly on Win XP and now I will use the driver source you showed me. Regards Joao Paiva
