I am affected by this same bug. Same laptop as well. When the sound crashes, it will act kind of like a broken record player, only much more rapid. Also, this is a regression -- it didn't happen during kernel 2.26 or thereabouts. I've tried all sorts of model= and probe_mask= in alsa- base, to no avail.
