My laptop is overheating with jaunty as well. HP DV5242ea.
I thought it was the HD at first, but I kept my laptop raised and it still switched off after a short time of use. I was a little confused, and then I noticed that there was a point on my laptop that was not raised. I assume the CPU was here, and this part got VERY hot. So, it seems that the CPU is not getting regularly cooled.
