here is the log of banshee --debug. I started banshee and waited for it to stop doing anything. I added a [AFTER START] in the log to indicate this. Then I transfered an ogg file to the ipod (I get only one line in the log... which does not seem very useful).
I'm going to test banshee 1.5.0 from ppa now.
