Hi While I was waiting for a resolution I tried using Mandriva instead and haven't looked at Ubuntu since.
I'll upgrade to the new Ubuntu soon and let you know. Status in “firefox-3.0” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: firefox My installation of Intrepid Ibex freezes when I watch YouTube videos in Firefox. It freezes everything so I have to do a hard (cold) reboot of the machine. I am running Ibex with all the latest critical and recommended updates as of the date of this post but this bug has been persistent since I installed Ibex last year in November. The bug will always appear after watching a few minutes of a YouTube video but it has appeared while I am listening to music using Audacious and once or twice when I was using Pidgin. These three apps all use sound so maybe that is the common cause but I am guessing.
