My laptop disk is an Hitachi: *-disk description: ATA Disk product: Hitachi HTS54121 vendor: Hitachi physical id: 1 bus info: s...@1:0.0.0 logical name: /dev/sda version: HPBO serial: HP0D00BDG0NJBA size: 93GiB (100GB) capabilities: partitioned partitioned:dos configuration: ansiversion=5 signature=d53d826f
I've read about some problems with Ubuntu and these disks: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=3806198&postcount=16 I've added the following to sysctl.conf: vm.dirty_ratio = 40 vm.dirty_background_ratio = 1 vm.dirty_writeback_centisecs = 30000 The disk is mounted with "relatime" option. I've also checked "noatim" options with same behaviour. The disk led is blinking all the time, it's really a pain, it consumes a lot of CPU, the system goes slow and so on. -- Too much "kjournald(XXX): WRITE block" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/384399 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
