@epicurea: "Rebooting after this does not fix the problem": you mean you don't get a DHCP address for eth0 ? Or that you get an address but NFS still doesn't mount at boot ?
@COD: The problem with wireless is that the connection is usually tied up to user-level data (AP to connect to, passwords...) that NetworkManager handles for you.
