You get it wrong Derek. We do not complain that it takes too long until notify-osd is fixed. Most of us are angry because it is flagged as "Wishlist" and not "Bug". It means the developer say "It's okay so and when we find time we will look if we can take care of your wish that the new notification is adjustable" and not "It's a bug and we will fix it as soon as possible".
