I can also confirm with steps outlined above, currently up-to-date
Jaunty AMD64 install. It seems that fast-user-switch-applet doesn't
update itself when the TTY is changed from logout/login, thus goes to
the "abandoned" TTY from the old session.

Sidenote: What I see is strange (and might not be the case for others,
but could possibly be related) is that when I switch to "user B", it
*always* locks the screen and prompts me for a password. I have checked
and re-checked all of the settings for passwords, in "System ->
Preferences -> Screensaver" as well as the fast-user-switch applet
itself, and both are instructed NOT to lock the screen.
