What version Macbook Pro do you have?

You can determine this by running:

% sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name

It should tell you something like: Macbook3,1.

This is important because different version of the Macbooks have
different Wi-Fi adapters.   For instance, the new unibody Macbook & Pros
use a Broadcom chipset, whereas the previous generation used Atheros Wi-
Fi.
