I confirm this bug too. I have exactly the same issues and tested it in the same way as @Darrell Kavanagh (bug #305301) - X200M, Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Li 1718, kernel 2.6.28-13-generic on Jaunty, suspend/hibernate working with DRI off, not working if on. I managed to get a pm_trace that says:
