rockfx01, That's correct, it isn't a Ubuntu bug as far as I can tell, but then again I can't remember if I improperly shutdown the computer when I was using Ubuntu or the other distro; I've been up all night and my memory is foggy, and since I can't remember this should probably not be marked as a bug.
I'm sorry my explanation was a little sloppy; i had been using "sudo" and I wasn't including "type," and there was a syntax error. I have since forced the mount and have been able to access the files. About ten minutes ago, after extensive searching, I found the boot up disk. I ran the recovery consul and found the problem to be in the boot files. I rebuilt the boot files and it boots fine now. At the moment I'm trying to recreate the problem. I wasn't sure where to post this problem but I have registered with brainstorm and will familiarize myself with that forum for my next one.
