Hi. I am using Ubuntu 9.04 and I have the same problem. The laptop model is Acer TravelMate 2410. I tried enabling the drivers from Atheros in the Hardware Drivers appication but it doesn't fix the problem. In my room the signal is about 70% and as I go to the kitchen, which is about 3 to 4 meters away, the signal is at 10% and nothing works, no ping, no web.
