Public bug reported: Binary package hint: lirc
According to the web page ( and my attempts to get lirc working under karmic), http://www.lirc.org, version 0.8.5 is needed for kernels above newer than 2.6.29, which karmic is (2.6.30). However, the current package is still 0.8.4a.
