It's all well and good to say "you don't like it, you fix it yourself" which is exactly what I did within a day of upgrading. However, we're ones who are computer literate enough to actually work out what was happening. The majority of "human beings" that Ubuntu is _meant_ to be targeting are going to have no idea what is going wrong. Let's face it, trying to run makefiles etc is confusing enough for the new user without throwing this into the mix.
