Thanks for your bug report. Which version of Ubuntu is that? Can you try to run
gnomevfs-ls <uri>
on the URL? If it's the same as bug 46656 it might be fixed once we upload a
new gnome-vfs with the fix of http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119245
