Public bug reported: First of all, excuse my poor English. I am using a USB Wireless connection that should be detected by the zd1211rw kernel module. If I install typical Ubuntu from the Live CD (or from the alternate) I am not able to find my connection. I have tried it all. I have to install the old zd1211 drivers to be able to find it.
My surprise comes when I try the Kubuntu Live CD. It doesn't find my connection either. But I start the Wireless Assistant tool... ¡and it finds it and it works! Thus, or the Wireless Assistant is a really magic tool or I was wrong and the zd1211rw kernel module works fine. I suppose it will be this last option. What can I do then to make my connection work in standard Ubuntu (with Gnome) without having to install old drivers? ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- The zd1211rw module does not recognize my wireless connection https://launchpad.net/bugs/81517 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
