Same deal here. Asus Crosshair nVidia GTS 8800 AMD 5600
Few seconds after logging in, system locks up. Tried creating a virtual machine, install the OS again (BTW 64-Bits), update, then remastersys to burn an image already updated. Had no chance to update. The system barely shows the Update Manager and then hangs. Anything I can do to make this work will gladly try. This distro is useless as it is right now for me.
