I'm also affected by this bug, using firefox-3.0 in 9.04. I'm attaching my attempt to backtrace according to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace#Already%20running%20programs (when I press ctrl+c, gdb exits, so I had to abcktrace before issuing the 'continue' step).
