Public bug reported: This has many chances to be a duplicate of bug 391245 but I'm reporting separately since it's not sure. bug 391245 has been reproduced with a karmic installation on a USB key, while my bug can be reproduced with the internal hard drive of the laptop.
I just installed 2.6.30-10 kernel and my laptop now drop to busybox at boot. 2.6.30-9 kernel still works fine. If I boot without splash and quiet, linux seems to initialize correctly and it suddenly echo many time the same line : sleep: invalid number '0.1' It then says : Gave up waiting for root device. Common problems : (see screenshot) It also says : ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/f17... does not exist! Dropping to a shell. However if I do a ls /dev/disk/by-uuid, the uuid is there, it exist and there is no difference in the file name.
