(1) (and also bug 229981) seems to be a bug in HP's PostScript interpreters. It did not occur with my printers (HP LaserJet 3390, P3005, Color LaserJet CM3530 MFP, probably they are too new). As long as the printouts come out correctly, simply ignore it.
For (2) not the CUPS package is the culprit but the cups-pdf package which makes CUPS performing unneeded filter detours. See bug 385709. This I have fixed in Karmic. (3) shows that the original issue for which this bug was opened is fixed for you. None of the above problems deals with a scanned image or 80-page document.
