Public bug reported:
After updating my karmic install today, my menu launcher that is
supposed to launch karmic isn't working. It starts administrative
application, but goes no further.
Launcher command: gksu --description /usr/share/applications/synaptic.desktop
/usr/sbin/synaptic
Running this command from a terminal works fine, as does 'gksu synaptic'
Ubuntu release: 9.10
