if you are having trouble instaling try adding more RAM (I think you need 256MB 
ram for 
xubuntu). 
instaling though does not fix "Bug #156711: 0.000000] ACPI: BIOS age (1999) 
fails cutoff (2000), acpi=force is required to enable ACPI" because the system 
won't let you edit 
"\boot\grub\menu'lst"(fixes the problem) or "\boot\config-2.6.22-14-genaric" 
(changes
cutoff).
acpi is not needed to instal the system.
