I've downloaded both of the latest Feisty releases and neither of them will even boot. They both freeze when it's loading the kernel. It also freezes at different points (4%, 8%, 15%, 48%...). Then after a bit it gives "I/O ERROR, ERROR READING BOOT CD" and I have to reboot.
The md5sums check out just fine: > md5sum feisty-desktop-i386.iso a32527ca60969521dcfbe39ed8294fca feisty-desktop-i386.iso I've tried this with no extra kernel parameters and using "ide=nodma". At first I thought this was just a hardware failure, but I've installed Mandriva Linux 2007 and never had a problem. -- Install Freezes when Loading ide-floppy https://launchpad.net/bugs/51562 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
