I am not sure that this belongs to the linux-image package. Perhaps it should be with libata instead? Or maybe there is something else entirely that is causing the problem. I just know that the drive worked fine with audio cds in intrepid and before. I think it might have even worked with Jaunty until some of the recent kernel upgrades, but I don't remember when I last tried an audio cd in this drive.
